The afternoon sun glints and turn golden on the cresting, pounding surf as sea gulls and other birds command the low-tide rocks. They sit and preen as they wait for tasty morsels washed in by the surf...
They also keep a wary eye on the waves as the afternoon tide rises promoting groups of gulls to flock in and out of the tide basin.
A Cormorant is fishing in the shallows and a Pelican sometimes floats outside the break.
This relaxing and beautiful scene offers and endless variation of mood and light as we go from afternoon through evening - changing from day to golden black to golden red --- roiling like fire lava before everything settles on an evening orange...
This pastiche of moods is supported by the relaxing rolling sound of surf and the crying of the gulls. Look for plovers, cormorants and even a cameo by a beautiful white crane (hint: around 1 hour).
